The Nagamine District Community Center project has started from October 1, 2018. This is the 9th area targeted and the 8th community center.
The Fureai Center is established and operated by the Social Welfare Council with the support of Inagi City, aiming to create a place that anyone, regardless of age or gender, can easily visit, often referred to as the "community engawa."
Inagi City's aging rate is the lowest level in Tokyo, but we have been addressing future challenges step by step for over 20 years.
Originally established in Hirao in 1997 under the name of the Community Center, it was successively opened in Oshitate, Sakahama, and Yanokuchi in 1998, renamed to the Friendship Center in 2000, and opened in Momura and Higashi-Naganuma in 2002, Koyodai in 2006, and Omaru in 2012.

The function of the community center is to "discover" issues within the community, allow for easy "consultation", gather "information" through people's visits, and connect to "support".
The actual operation is centered around coordinators from each district, with the participation of cooperating members and volunteers, and is established through cooperative relationships with local Neighborhood Associations, Commissioned Welfare Volunteers, Greenery Clubs, and others. Participants enjoy conversations over tea, engage in light exercises and games, and spend their time freely and actively, with specific activities varying by region.
The Friendship Center operates in locations that can be borrowed according to the circumstances of each district, such as public facilities like elementary schools and Welfare Centers, as well as district facilities like Neighborhood Association halls and senior citizen centers. The Friendship Center Nagamine is implemented within the Nagamine Oasis.
This Nagamine Oasis is a convenience facility established in conjunction with the construction of the office by Asuka Souken Co., Ltd., which is leased by Inagi City from the company and is open to the community as a community space in the Nagamine District.
The facility is available from 8:30 AM to 10:00 PM. From 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM and from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, management is entrusted to the Nagamine Federation, while from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the city has commissioned the Senior Employment Center for management. The community center project is conducted in a corner of this facility on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, but this does not interfere with its use as the Nagamine Oasis during this time. We encourage more citizens to use it as a local gathering place.
This time, with the establishment of the community center in Nagamine, only Wakabadai remains. This area is the youngest town in the city, but we hope to develop it in the near future.
