No.40 Adult Day Three-Day Weekend
(Inagi Newsletter February 15, 2015 issue)
This year's January three-day weekend was marked by warm and calm days, and various events were held successfully.
On Saturday, the 10th, the opening ceremony of the Inagi Nagamine Sports Plaza was held.
This facility is the result of careful consideration and discussions involving local residents and experts for the utilization of the site after the closure of the former Sakahama landfill. In fiscal year 2013, we plan to develop the basic design and detailed design, and in fiscal year 2014, we will establish a soccer field, futsal court, and parking lot. From fiscal year 2015 onwards, we plan to develop a management building, spectator seating, and a grassy area in the lower section.
On the day, the presidents of the Sakahama Neighborhood Association and Nagamine Federation, as well as the presidents of sports-related organizations such as the Inagi City Sports Association, Soccer Federation, and Rugby Association, participated, along with players and coaches from Tokyo Verdy, to conduct an opening game featuring 5th and 6th grade elementary school students.
When I was a member of a youth soccer team, it was a dream to practice and play on a grass field. I hope that many players will grow from this wonderful artificial turf pitch.
On the holiday of the 12th, we held the annual Coming of Age Ceremony. The city has previously held the ceremony at the Komazawa Gakuen Memorial Hall, but this year we moved the venue to a new hall that was completed last year within the Yomiuri Land amusement park.
This "Nippon Television Ranran Hall" is a unique facility, featuring a pool in front of the stage for performances such as sea lion shows. When not in use, a seating cover can be closed from above, transforming it into a hall that can accommodate approximately 1,000 people.
While we do not intend to oppose Urayasu City holding a Coming-of-Age Ceremony at a certain amusement park, I believe that the setting of an amusement park has become more enjoyable than ever for nostalgic classmates to reunite with their teachers and celebrate each other.
We would like to express our gratitude to Yomiuri Land Co., Ltd. for their special consideration from the preparation and adjustment stages. We also thank many local companies for providing prizes for the lottery. We would like to once again thank the executive committee members, the new adults, for their diligent preparations, including soliciting these sponsorships.
This year's Coming of Age Ceremony in Inagi City ended peacefully without any disturbances. We also express our gratitude to the organizations involved in Sound Youth Development in Inagi for nurturing such wonderful young people.
This three-day weekend was a determination to work together with the citizens to create a thriving Inagi, inspired by the bright smiles of the new adults. Thank you for your continued support this year as well.
