Capsule sponge toys are toys that contain compressed sponge inside a small capsule made of gelatin. When the capsule is placed in water or lukewarm water, the gelatin dissolves, and a sponge shaped like a dinosaur, fruit, animal, etc. comes out.
The toy entered the infant's body without the Parent or Guardian's knowledge, leading to unexplained health issues for four months until the cause was identified at a medical institution, and subsequently, an incident occurred where it was removed under general anesthesia.
In the future, there is a risk of similar consumer accidents occurring, so the Consumer Affairs Agency has provided information based on Article 38, Paragraph 1 of the Consumer Safety Act to prevent the occurrence or expansion of consumer harm. We would like to inform all consumers.
