QuestionI went to the hospital without my My Number Health Insurance Card or Qualification Confirmation Document. Can I get a refund?

If you are unable to present your My Number Health Insurance Card or Qualification Confirmation Document when receiving a medical examination at a medical institution, you will need to pay the full amount yourself and later present your My Number Health Insurance Card or Qualification Confirmation Document to settle the payment. However, some medical institutions may not allow settlement at a later date.
In such cases, please apply for medical expenses at the Insurance and Pension Division. After a review of the content, the amount excluding your out-of-pocket expenses will be paid later (approximately 3 months after the application). There may be cases where payment is not made based on the review results. Also, please note that payments will not be made if more than 2 years have passed since the date the medical expenses were paid.
