QuestionI went to the hospital without a Health Insurance Card, can I receive a refund?

Response

If you are unable to present your Health Insurance Card when receiving medical treatment at a medical institution, you will be required to pay the full amount out of pocket and settle the payment later by presenting your Health Insurance Card. However, some medical institutions may not allow for later settlement.
In such cases, please apply for medical expenses at the Insurance and Pension Division. After a review of the content, the amount excluding your out-of-pocket expenses will be paid later (approximately 3 months after the application). There may be cases where payment is not made based on the review results. Also, please note that payments will not be made if more than 2 years have passed since the date the medical expenses were paid.
