QuestionPlease tell me about joining and leaving health insurance in remote areas.

Response

Those who are hospitalized for a long time away from their families will be subject to the application of the address special exception as follows.
For those enrolled in the National Health Insurance who are hospitalized or admitted to welfare facilities for a long period away from their family, the special address provision will apply, and you will need to make changes, enroll, withdraw, or process benefits for the National Health Insurance at your address prior to hospitalization or admission.
Please bring the following documents when you proceed with the procedures.

Documents Required for Procedures

  • Copy of Certificate of Residence at the address after hospitalization (admission)
  • Certificate of Residence
  • Identification documents for those coming to complete procedures (driver's license, passport, My Number Card, etc.)

Note: If a person from a different household comes to complete the procedure, a power of attorney is required.

Students who live outside the city away from their parents to attend school will also be subject to the address location exception.
