QuestionWhat happens if I default on the National Health Insurance Tax?

Response

If you fail to pay your health insurance tax, you may not be able to receive the High-Cost Medical Expense Certificate. Additionally, depending on the period of non-payment, you may receive a reminder notice, be issued a Health Insurance Card with a shorter validity period, and even have your property seized.
If you are unable to pay your insurance tax due to special circumstances such as a disaster, you may be able to make installment payments by applying. Please do not leave your delinquent status unaddressed and consult the Collection Division.
