QuestionI am struggling with medical expenses. I would like to know about refunds for medical expenses and other related information.

Response

When the out-of-pocket medical expenses become high within the same month, if you apply and are approved, the amount exceeding the out-of-pocket maximum (the limit differs for those under 70 and those 70 and older) will be provided as high-cost medical care benefits. Additionally, a high-cost medical care application form will be sent to the head of the household approximately three months after the medical treatment.
In addition, by applying in advance for the "Certificate of Eligibility for Maximum Payment" or the "Certificate of Eligibility for Maximum Payment and Standard Burden Reduction" (these may not be issued if there are unpaid insurance taxes) and presenting it along with your Health Insurance Card at medical institutions, you can limit your monthly payment at each medical institution to the predetermined maximum out-of-pocket amount. (Costs not covered by insurance, such as room charges during hospitalization, will be paid separately.)
